About the role

The Legal Counsel – Inquests and Inquiries supports the General Counsel and Board Secretary and the wider ESTA legal team, whilst contributing to strategic decision making and legal risk management across the organisation.

This role is responsible for the oversight and management of Coronial Inquests and civil litigation.  You will work closely with ESTA's insurer (VMIA) and panel firms appointed to act on behalf of ESTA to ensure the efficient and appropriate management of all aspects of ESTA's response to the Coroner and any associated claims or investigations.

This role operates within a complex stakeholder environment in the emergency management sector.
