ESTA is the critical link between the Victorian community and the state's emergency services agencies and it partners with the agencies to improve service delivery to the community. It provides Victoria's 24-hour emergency call-taking and dispatch services for police, fire, ambulance and VICSES and manages the provision of advanced, operational communications for police, ambulance, fire services and the SES. About the role

An opportunity exists for an experienced individual to join ESTA as a Data Analyst – Part Time. The Data Analyst is responsible for extracting data from ESTA data sources and ensuring the data is ready for reporting requirements for the Data Science team.

Please note this is a part time, 10 month fixed term contract (22.8 hours per week) based at ESTA's Burwood East location.

The variety and challenge in this role will come from the following duties:

  • Extracting and cleansing data from various data sources within ESTA
  • Maintaining data integrity and quality for accurate reporting
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and responding to their data requests
  • Responding to requests from the Data Science team and preparing reports ready for analysis

About you

To be considered for this fantastic opportunity, you will have the following:

  • A Computer Science/Engineering qualification or currently studying towards this qualification
  • Experience with database management systems Oracle and MS SQL Server
  • Demonstrated experience with SQL queries and other programming language systems
  • Experience with ETL processes, ideally SSIS
  • High attention to detail working with large complex data files
  • Advanced knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office
  • The successful applicant must satisfy the National Police Records Check
