ESTA is the critical link between the Victorian community and the state's emergency services agencies and it partners with the agencies to improve service delivery to the community. It provides Victoria's 24-hour emergency call-taking and dispatch services for police, fire, ambulance and VICSES and manages the provision of advanced, operational communications for police, ambulance, fire services and the SES. About the role

The Operational Policy and Governance Lead enables a high performance culture and provides a safe and rewarding experience for ESTA's people by informing, supporting and delivering sector and agency initiatives and reforms.

This role will work collaboratively across the organisation to coordinate and contribute to the Operation's Governance Framework throughout its lifecycle. A key focus of the Operational Policy and Governance Lead is to closely monitor the framework and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) identifying opportunities for development to achieve service and financial objectives.

The variety and challenge in this role will come from the following duties:

  • Proactively recommend and implement agency/sector SOPs to meet ESTA's specific objectives
  • Planning SOP review cycles to ensure information is accurate to support employees commitment to the governance of the SOPs
  • Manage SOP governance processes and tracking any changes
  • Prepare reports for ESTA management and external stakeholders as required
  • Represent ESTA as a SOP Governance expert at project development and strategic planning discussions
  • Acting as a central point of contact to coordinate with relevant departments during SOP changes
  • Promote ESTA's vision and goals enthusiastically to both internal and external stakeholders

About you

To be considered for this fantastic opportunity, you will have the following:

  • Experience in policy writing with a focus on procedural documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to work within organisational policy guidelines
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others
  • Experience in managing and analysing business improvement processes to provide successful outcomes
  • Confident ability to resolve complex organisational problems by engaging with relevant sources to find a solution
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business (or relevant discipline) or demonstrated experience within Policy Governance
