About ESTA

ESTA is the critical link between the Victorian community and the state's emergency services agencies and it partners with the agencies to improve service delivery to the community. It provides Victoria's 24-hour emergency call-taking and dispatch services for police, fire, ambulance and VICSES and manages the provision of advanced, operational communications for police, ambulance, fire services and the SES. And its central goal is to save lives and prevent harm through speed and accuracy in emergency operations.

About the role

As a senior member of the Strategy & Architecture team, the Business Planning Lead will work collaboratively within the team to ensure the corporate plan is developed and monitored throughout the business strategically. The Business Planning Lead is responsible for the governance and reporting of ESTA's strategy.

The variety and challenge in this role will come from the following duties:

  • Develop strong collaborative relationships between strategic planning and investment stakeholders with a view of maximising ESTA strategic planning and business case success
  • Working closely with internal and external stakeholder to plan and scope strategic responses
  • Co-ordinate internal and external stakeholders in the consultation and development of the strategic and corporate plans
  • Prepare and gather data/evidence for strategic business case submissions and reviews by government bodies up to the Victorian Cabinet (Economic Review Committee)

About you

To be considered for this fantastic opportunity, you will have the following:

  • Understanding and experience of developing fully costed strategic plans
  • Understanding and experience in co-ordinating vendors in the execution of consulting services
  • Understanding and experience in developing business cases into government
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and comprehension skills
  • Strong reporting/analytical skills and the understanding of financial implications
  • Ability to multi task and make sound judgements quickly in a dynamic environment
  • High attention to detail and able to maintain confidentiality
  • Flexible and positive work approach and attitude
